Douro DOC
DOC wines are exclusive of geographically delimited regions and attest to the quality and origin of the products, hence the Denomination of Controlled Origin (DOC).
The Douro Demarcated Region was the first demarcated region in the world, created to certify the quality of its Port Wine through the Marquis of Pombal, even before there was DOC certification.
Today, in order to obtain DOC wines certification, it is necessary to submit the wine to a rigorous evaluation that analyzes the grape varieties, alcohol content, soil type, complexity or structure.
